You have the right to choose!

As a motorist and a consumer, you have a right to choose which insurance provider you insure your vehicle with. However, many don’t realise that you also have the right to choose who repairs your vehicle after an accident.

It’s important to do your homework and shop around as not all insurers are equal. Take special note of the PDS (Product Disclosure Statement) as some insurance providers do not offer choice of repairer while others may only offer it as an option at additional cost on top of your regular premium.

Your insurance company will likely encourage you to use someone within their network of “preferred repairers”, citing that only repairs carried out by one of these partners are covered by a lifetime guarantee.
